Hi everybody!
What a weekend! Before we start, I would like to thank all my family for the perfect weekend they offered me (it was my birthday)! I now have a new camera (a Sony Alpha 700) and I hope taking many more shots for Pictaero.
So, still under shock, I'd better let you view the pictures that the team has chosen for you. I suppose you don't need any explanation. You are all grown-ups!
There is quite a bit of everything this week ... if you like airliners. There is nothing else: no fighter, no light aircraft, etc ... Whatever!
That's all! I have to admit that the A320 with Frontier Airlines' colours is my favourite! Sorry for disturbing ... see you on Monday then for our weekly Screeners' Choice!
We are now back to our cruise speed! This week's choice is still mainly made of airliners, although they are very different!
Let's change a little and start with the largest airplanes and end with the tiniest!
So, first of all, the largest: the A380; first an Airbus prototype and then, an airframe for Emirates!
Next coming in are an A340 and an A330. The A340 belongs to Air France and the A330 to US Airways.
Smaller now with the single aisles from both Airbus and Boeing; an easyJet A320 and a Primera Air 737.
Getting even smaller! I suggest you take a look at a Saab 2000 flightdeck and an ATR-42 for an African airline.
Eventually, the tiniest of all ... but what a view! A Piper J-3 Cub sliding on the snow ...
That is all for this week. We hope receiving more and more photos from you all! So, see you on Monday 21st for our weekly Screeners' Choice!
The Screeners' Choice is back this week after restful holidays, although many Champagne bottles were opened! Many thanks to the spotters who did not eat and drink (too much) and dropped by at Pictaero.com to upload their pictures and share them with us all!
Our choice is mainly composed of airliners, so I shall start with the only photo that is a military aircraft: a Mirage 2000C uploaded by Laurent Guilcher.
Now, let's start the bigger piece; an Etihad A340-600, an Air France 777 and a school of NorthWest Airlines tails at Amsterdam. Then, smaller birds: a Swiss A320 in the night at Geneva and an Air Caraibes ATR-72.
As a Christmas Pudding, I suggest you take two photos by Yvan Panas and Hervé G taken during the Christmas holidays taken at Toulouse-Blagnac airport, near the Airbus site. The A380 on the left is the second aircraft to be delivered to Singapore Airlines within a few days. The A380 on the right-hand side is MSN010 which has just left to Hamburg for interior furnishing.
I hope you have enjoyed our coming back in 2008. I am expecting your comments and I will see you again on next MOnday for our weekly Screeners' Choice!
2007 is over. We have finally finished eating turkey, foie gras, oysters and Christmas pudding!
As you may know, 2007 saw the birth of Pictaero. After studying the market and worked on what you can see right now, we came across a huge amount of work. And, on behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank you for your loyalty: More and more are joining the community. Pictaer's success is the greatest gift you have given us!
2007 was a dense year in the aeronautical industry with record sales for the main manufacturers, first delivery and entry in service for the A380, ... However, a few events reminded us that everything cannot be perfect: accidents, deaths, lay-offs, ...
2008 will see the coming of many more surprises on Pictaero for you: more photos, more options, ... So, see you soon.
Hoping you had a great time for your holidays!
We have prepared a shorter choice for this week since a few of us have already left on holiday or are too busy on this week before Christmas. We still have some great ones
Let's start with airliners, in great number today! First of all, out from the Airbus assembly lines, an A320 for Thai AirAsia with a special colour scheme. Then, an A330-200 for Qantas, delivered a few days ago. Finally, an Edelweiss A320, an Aeroflot A320 and a Qantas 737.
Eventually, two special pictures: a Dassault MD-312 taxiing and a T-28's engine:
Well, that is all for today and for 2007! The Screeners' Choice will be on holiday for three weeks. We shall see each other again on January 7th 2008 with a brand new Screeners' Choice. Happy Holiday season to you all!
