Airlines >> Air Austral :

• Founded in 1974, Air Austral begins flights in May 1975 as Reunion Air Services with a Hawker-Siddeley HS-748.
• In 1987 the company is renamed Air Reunion before becoming Air Austral in 1990. Then, it operates flights in the Indian Ocean area with a fleet of Boeing B737.
• In 2003, the airline receives 2 B777-200ER, registrated F-OPAR and F-ORUN and begins flights between Paris and Reunion Island. These two aircraft are followed by a third one in 2005 enabling Air Austral to open new routes to Marseille and Lyon (2005) and Toulouse (2007).
• In 2007, Air Austral annonced it plans to introduce futrher two B777-300ER to its fleet in 2008 to begin flights between France and New-Caledonia via Reunion and Australia.
