Glad to have you back on Mondays!
I guess you will enjoy our choice this week! It is varied and there are many photos that were chosen, although nothing has changed since I last wrote an article: airliners are still the majority!
I suggest we start with pictures of the first A380 that Qantas will receive on September 19th. Both photos belong to the same photographer, but were taken on two different days. However, they just look the same! Two differences can be spotted though: the weather was better on August 30th and the registration is different (For the photo flight, the final registration - VH-OQA - had been put onto the aircraft)!
let's change size now: here are a F-8 Crusader and a Mirage III on static display as well as a Yak-18, ready to fly. Check out the Fouga Magister being towed ... what a weird way of having a plane take off!
Eventually, here are the airliners that I promised you earlier on. My personal choice went to this Dornier Do-328 Jet that I find particularly attractive. Too bad a longer version did not enter into production ...
Aside from that, you can see a Continental 757-200, an Air France A340-300 and Avianca's very first A330-200!
That is all for today! The next article will then be on September 15th. I'll see you on next Monday for our next weekly Screeners' Choice.
We are back after our well-deserved holidays!
This week's choice does not only show last week's photos, but you will also see our favourites pictures throughout the whole summer!
I would like to thank my team-mates because that was a long hard work going through so many photographs, however nice they were!
So, here is our choice; all types can be found!
For instance, quite a few A380s ... wide bodies, vintage aircraft, fighters and even a glider!
So, here is our choice for the last two months!!
Many thanks to all of you for sharing your pictures with Pictaero's members and all visitors. I hope you liked it.
I will see your round on Monday 8th September for our next weekly Screeners' Choice.
A year ago, Pictaero was launched with a French and an English version after more than 6 months of development and 2 months of beta testing.
This year has shown that we have been able to develop an independent website for aviation picture sharing. We have dreamt of Pictaero, we have imagined what it may look like, and we are really happy to see that what we thought it would be is now reality.
On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank you, dear members, for the interest that you have shown in joining the website and putting it to life by sending photos, updating the resources or commentating and rating pictures.
We have tried to listen to your queries and your expectations as much as we could, and we have had lots of new ideas to offer an evolution to make the website more comprehensive. We will put those online in the near future, or on a longer term, but we hope you will enjoy them!
Once more, thanks again for your faithfulness; it is to us the best reward we can get.
You may have noticed that some of us are already on holiday!
So, our choice this week is quite short!
Let's start with fighting planes taken at air shows
Then, the traditional airliners: among them is a DC-8 or an Air France 777 taken by night.
That will be all for this time! See you on next Monday for our weekly Screeners' Choice.
Great diversity this week!
I suggest you take a look at Soviet flying objects first: not just planes, but a helicopter too!
Then, legendary aircraft: a DC-3 bearing the colours of CSA and a restaured _DC-6__.
Finally, the forever there airliners, with some new things though: a 757 from British Airways' new airline: Open Skies.
As said previously, a great choice. For this week, we have already had quite a number of pictures taken during various air shows. We hope to see lots of those in next week's choice! See you on Monday then for our next weekly Screeners' Choice.
