Pictaero's Screeners' Choice - Monday August 27th 2007

Published on 08-29-2007 by Curufinwe in Screeners' choices | Permanent link | 0 comment(s)

Every week, and according to the pictures we receive, we will provide you with the team's favourite pictures. They may not be the best rated ones or the most popular ones; they are just those we have enjoyed during the week!

Every team member has selected a few photographs for this week. Here is the result below. Would you have favourite pictures and would you like to show them to the others, do not forget to vote for them by logging in and go to the photograph's commentary page.

However, if a picture receives a great amount of votes, we will probably get interested in it!
Photographs are listed in categories; that may often be the case. Pictaero team members have different interests and preferences as for aviation. Some may choose military aviation while others will turn to civilian planes.

First of all, fighting planes are everybody's favourites! When the light and the composition are done, all you have to do is wait for the artist in the flight deck to pose for us:
Dassault Rafale - 302 Dassault Mirage2000 - 5-NC

The A380 is not bad either. Our photographers were able to take it at the Paris air show.
A380 - F-WWEA A380 - F-WWEA A380 - F-WWEA

Then, some liveries and colour schemes can be very attractive, especially if those planes are nto common. For instance, it is the case for this Germanwings A319.
A319 - D-AKNI A319 - D-AKNI A319 - D-AKNI

Finally, there are pictures that cannot be categorised. They are beautiful although the plane in itself is not particularly interesting or rare.It is however not the case for the Airbus A340-600 belonging to Etihad, reflecting the evening light. As for the Lockheed Jetstar, its composition gives it a kind of "je ne sais quoi".
A340-600 - F-WWCB Lockheed Jetstar - VP-CSM A310-MRTT - 1027

And do not forget that Pictaero is not only about planes; it is about aircraft, helicopters among others.
Alouette - HB-XCB

That is all for this week. Do not hesitate to upload more pictures this week and be part of the second edition of our screeners' choice next week!

Discover your custom page

Published on 08-20-2007 by Curufinwe in News | Permanent link | 0 comment(s)

New: Pictaero allows you to choose your own content, organise it the way you want so as to create your personal custom homepage.

It is very easy to have this option set up! On the home page, we have selected default items for you; however, you can remove them, add some more, move them ... in a few mouse clicks!

This way, if you want to know what the latest added pictures are, add the "Latest added pictures" item ... would you prefer follow the airports' updates, add the "latest updates on airports" item. You can select the colour of the items and move them according to your needs and preferences!

Obviously, you can still choose to view the ordinary home page: you just have to click on "Deactivate my custom homepage"; don't worry though: you will be able to reactivate it within a simple mouse click!

Do not hesitate to give us some feedback about this new option as well as your ideas for other items. Just contact us!

Today is a great day for Pictaero: we are opening the private beta version of the site!

After over six months of work and months of thinking, it is the result of our dream and our wish: give everybody the opportunity to publish aeronautics pictures and let world-wide internet users enjoy watching them!

Today, a few users - among which you are - can access Pictaero. Why? Simply because we would like to launch Pictaero in several different phases (private beta, public beta and full opening). Our goal is to respond to your expectations in a very short period of time with a limited number of users who will send us their requests!

Our main goal is to have our users satisfied. As such, please do not hesitate to contact us to tell us about your comments, criticism, expectations or problems ...

On behalf of the whole Pictaero team, I would like to welcome you aboard!
